I Academy, STI Talk with Hans Bacher of Walt Disney
The animation industry as a whole sees a lot of promise and the industry recognizes that there are still a lot of Filipino talents waiting to be tapped. Holy Cow! Animation, a 7-year old Filipino animation company, and iAcademy, in their thrust to nurture young Filipino talents, will hold a half-day seminar for high school students entitled "Animation Secrets Revealed". This event will be held at the 3 rd floor PhilFirst Building, 6764 Ayala Avenue, Makati City on November 29, 2006. Registration for the seminar will be at 8:30am.
The speaker for the seminar is HANS BACHER who worked with Walt Disney Productions as production designer for films such as BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN, LION KING, and MULAN. Mr. Bacher will discuss careers in animation and he will also discuss some of his stints with Walt Disney.
After the seminar, we would like to invite the officers of the Animation Council of the Philippines to a lunch and soft launcing of iAcademy's ladderized program on digital animation. This will be held at the 7F of the PhilFirst Bldg. Mr. Hans Bacher; Mr. Reuel Virtucio, Vice President for Business Development of STI; Ms. Marlyn Montano, Managing Director of Holy Cow; and Mitch Andaya, Dean of iAcademy; will sit in the panel and will entertain questions from the members of the media.
The panelists will discuss the collaboration between Holy Cow, STI and iAcademy in the development of animation program. They will also highlight the ladderized curriculum and the intensive intership program dedicated for the students of iAcademy at Holy Cow! Animation as well as the other industry linkages like the Council. This model further strengthens their animation program.
