Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was one of the speakers on the second day, who talked about Creating an Entrepreneurial Mindset. Pocholo shared his humble beginnings as a young voice artist, who eventually opened his own recording studio after almost a decade in the industry. He talked about the challenges he encountered as a young professional, and how he made those the motivation for him to establish the first and only voice acting school in the Philippines. Pocholo even amazed the audience with his repertoire of voice impressions, which included cartoon characters, famous celebrities and personalities.
Pocholo then transitioned to the topic of entrepreneurship, and shared what it means to have an “entrepreneurial mindset.” Pocholo tied his life story to the qualities that an entrepreneur must have – qualities such as being dedicated, having a vision, and the ability to set goals, among many others. He reminded the young entrepreneurs that they should have a purpose for starting a business that goes beyond simply making money. He encouraged them to think of how their business contributes to the community and to the country in creating positive change.
Pocholo also introduced a different concept of money by using its Tagalog term as an acronym for what people should invest in. According to him, people should not just invest their pera, but rather invest in their P.E.R.A. – which stand for passion, energy, relationships and ability. Pocholo planted the strong message that people who are thinking of starting a business should focus on making a difference than simply making money.
Pocholo’s talk closed with his Pochology “Availability is your best ability,” and encouraged the audience to make themselves available for opportunities to ignite and cultivate their entrepreneurial spirit.
Pocholo also speaks about Entrepreneurial Mindset as one of the mentors and speakers of the Kapatid Mentor ME Program of Go Negosyo and DTI.
